This painting was inspired by my first trip to Yellowstone. I had never before heard the majestic sound of a bull elk bugle, and it left me awestruck. The resonating call seemed to penetrate every fiber of my being, instantly putting me on high alert. In this painting, the bull has turned back to respond to the call of another bull in the valley.
